At first I was going to say that this book tried to incorporate every social justice issue for right now, but it really doesn't. It touches on the diversity of our communities, but really and truly, I love how it teaches the main theme that one person can not speak for his/her entire culture or race or anything that sets them apart from a majority. I guess I knew that, but this book brought it home, which just goes to show you that it is super important to read a variety of books before we can even think we have a grasp of anything. I used to think I knew all about British royalty after watching the Crown, but I guess there are different perspectives. And in that same regard, this book shows us that although there are well thought out books, well researched, etc, we can not possibly say we totally know what it's like to be in someone else's shoes. But we can have empathy.
Even in video game communities. (which is a whole other culture I know nothing about, but have a glimpse of after this book).
