My rating: 3 of 5 stars
There are a lot of tests students take, and the stakes can be pretty high- don't pass the English test in Virginia, and no graduation. With the Wonder Test, the questions are so bizarre, but the test so highly regarded that students tend to disappear, some how related to their results. And a newcomer to the small town, who happens to have a son taking the test and she herself is a CIA agent on "sabbatical" wants to find out what is happening. The story is interesting, and you definitely want to keep going to find out what is happening. But I just really wasn't a fan of the mom/CIA agent. She didn't seem consistent to me- one moment she is all Men in Black type persona, then another time a sentimental mother who finds extreme wisdom with her son's innocence. Interesting, fun read, and free on Hoopla. Bonus.
