My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read this book before Halloween- and it's about as close to horror as I would ever like to get to. That is to say, it probably wouldn't even be a blip on most people's concept of horror. Here's the thing, we discussed this book at my book club, and the main focus was a commentary on how women had no real authority back in 66. Well duh. What amazes me, though, is that was the main conversation. Back in the day it was written, the horror was that Rosemary had a baby that was spawned by Satan. It wasn't the horror of popping out with knives or even included any clowns (which by the way do not scare me- that was more for you It people). It's kind of interesting in itself how our society has changed to what we consider horror. So while the book was ok (never saw the movie but heard that it's almost word for word as the book), I am giving it 4 stars for being quite a conversation piece, no matter what era.
