Such a cute book, but definitely with some angst. A southern belle from Memphis is following her husband up to Vermont to become inn keepers. She is disappointed in the rustic style inn, as well as the copious amounts of snow to contend with. And the people are clearly not if the same southern hospitality that she is raised with.
I think what really gave the book it's charm is that the belle learned to persevere, learned to live with different personalities (I'll admit, her definition of what is proper was very narrow and at times grating), and learned what it takes despite shocking tragedy. And, not that this is a spoiler, hopefully, but it wasn't a happy go lucky ending like on Hallmark channel. It was good, but not perfect. I like that- somewhat realistic.
