My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love historical novels, and this one didn't disappoint. Following two brothers, a young girl, and one more boy, these 4 orphans running away from a "home", we see the harsh realities of the 1930's regarding Native Indians, orphans, and who to trust or not trust. In contrast, we see the beauty in the love within makeshift families, the supp0ort of newly found friends, and the lovely resources of this tender land. This was a great book! Thank you, Mr. Krueger, for your amazing research and story.
