Not sure I appreciated this book the way it was meant to be appreciated. This book was written for pure music lovers- ones whose body, mind, and soul get immersed in the words and rhythms. I like music, but more as a background. I don't crave it the way some do, those who would understand having friends whose whole connection is based on music.
However, I do understand jealousy, the fear of being left out, and the fear of being a one-hit wonder. So I will review that part of the book- how despite having a talent, a good friend, etc, we can hurt ourselves and others with those insecurities. Lack of communication (always a huge point) and assumptions are usually the culprits of breaking up relationships, and this book showed nothing to the contrary. And with the world of social media, we can strike out at each other with the whole world watching. This book was "fire" (which a student just told me means really cool). Bummer- I can't even write it without sounding dorky. Well, I'll say it librarian style- great book.
