My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Shivers. But not because this is a jump out and scare you book, but because it shows the depravity of who we can easily become. Three main characters are all affected in different ways with the kidnapping of a newspaper boy (the book is spawned by the true story of this happening and hence the milk carton faces). One is a sister of a newspaper boy (not kidnapped), one is the newspaper boy (not the one kidnapped), and the detective looking for the newspaper boy who was kidnapped. So many different layers to this book, besides the mystery itself. There is also the relationships between the town, the failures of parents, and the residual hurts of adults. This was an intense book, and definitely one I would recommend to certain people who are not wanting a beach read.
