For a great who-dun-it, this is your go to. Set in a small drought-suffering town in Australia, a man comes back to the town to say goodbye to his best friend who has committed suicide. However, not all is as seems and Aaron Falk, the one who comes back, is dealing with mixed feelings as he works with the policeman to uncover the truth. At no point in time did I ever feel like Ms. Harper was grasping at straws to make the story weave together, and it all seemed fairly plausible. The characters were 3 dimensional (albeit, maybe sometimes a little predictable), but overall quite realistic. I liked the bartender the best. And man, there are some mean guys in this book. Just really mean.
