Is it bad that the first thing I think of is that this is a rip-off from X-men? A girl can suck all the life from people but she doesn't want to be that person. So, she's shipped off to an asylum for years (no Wolverine) until a boy, Adam, enters her cell. A bad man, in the meantime, is trying to decide how to use her skills to win a war that I'm not really sure about how or why. Maybe I missed it amongst all the metaphors and similes. I love those devices, but not when they literally fill up 1/3 of the book. So, the 3 stars. But the plot was pretty good, despite it being somewhat Xmen like. Then again, I like the X-men, so it's not a bad thing.
