I never read Practical Magic, but I saw the movie, so I had a hint of what was going on in this one. And I'll admit, I really enjoyed it. There is a bit of the magical realism, but the book is more about what defines a person, and what makes a person feel at home. It can be a feeling, it can be a person you enjoy, or it can be a location. Or it can be that you just accept yourself for who you are. There were intricate relationships in this book, some even dating back to the Puritan Days, but almost all of them are relatable. This is a good book about the 3 siblings who are trying to live within their rules of magic, and the rules of life. OH MY STARS- I just saw the cover with the person on it. I have no idea what I was looking at since I just realized it was a girl's face.
