I can't say I hated this book, but I didn't really like it, either. It was fairly slow for me.
Ona is a 104 year old woman who is waiting for her weekly visit from the young boy scout to help out around the house. Instead, she is surprised to find his father, who is filling in for his young son who actually has died. And so the story goes about the young boy's relationship with his dad, with Ona, and so forth. It's about lost dreams, relationships, and goals in life. Maybe I wasn't at a certain point in my life where this book rang strongly for me. It wasn't bad, it was just "meh." It's only been a week and I forgot I read it already. Good thing I wrote it down.
