My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The three stars is not due to the well-written poetic form primarily addressing eating disorders. The three stars is the fact that there were lots of issues in the book- Eating disorders, abuse, neglect...All of which are important and serious. However, I would have liked to see a larger depth into one or two of social issues rather than a breadth of them. The main premise of the book is a sister who tries very hard to lose weight, even to the detriment of health factors. In the meantime, her beautiful sister has her own demons she needs to confront. The parents are basically clueless as to the emotional turmoil they are putting their daughters in. I'm not naïve to think it's not realistic, but as said, for a YA book I feel that a deeper look into one of these issues would have been better.
