I've never read Matilda before. What was I thinking waiting until I was 47 years old? So, my daughter decided we needed to have a neighborhood book club, and this is the book she chose. Wise choice, daughter! It was so cute, and while the parents are horrible, I liked that it wasn't the main point of the story. Rather, I was rooting more for Miss Honey and Matilda than focusing so much on the evil behaviors of the antagonists. Sometimes I feel like the bad people are sometimes glorified in how bad they are. Maybe I'm rambling, but this book was cute. And the movie was ok, too. Of course the book is better, but that should not be a surprise.
