I haven't yet read Lilac Girls, but I heard that's even better than this book. In Lost Roses, set during the Russian Revolution, there were three girls who were affected in different ways, and hence, three different voices. Each was unique, but at the same time, I didn't ever feel like I had to go through one to get to the other. You know how there are sometimes the different voices that you just kind of skim over? That wouldn't happen in this book. And I also applaud the Russian Revolution timeline. While I am ok with WWI and WWII, this was a different world changing event, so I felt like I was learning something kind of new. Well done, Martha Hall Kelly and Barnes and Noble for picking this book!
