I'm late to the party, but now I understand why my teens loved this book. It is not just a love story, but it's also a book about what we consider worth living. As a young girl hovers between living and dying and is able to watch the reactions of family and friends, she looks back at her life and what she values. The ultimate is her family. Which she has lost. And the book explores whether or not there are things to live for. It delves into young love, friendship, and loss. It pulled on my heart, and I'm curious about book #2.
