A girl is sick and can't enter the world. In fact, she has been in her house for 18 years, or close to it. Her only contact is through email, her mother (her father and brother are deceased), and her lovely nurse, Carla. I love Carla. Anyway, a family with a boy moves in next door, and the inevitable happens- they get to know each other through a variety of ways. And then, we are asked the question, is it good to live, or is it better to be alive upon risk of death. I can't say I was shocked at the end- I did see some stuff coming, but for the most part, a very enjoyable book that makes you think about what is important in life and to what end you will protect what you cherish.
