My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Ah, now this book I understood and may have to read #2 again since this gives much more backstory and gratefully a lexicon of hockey and college words so that I can understand what is being said. But most importantly, I think that I enjoyed this story so much more because I could figure out what was going on- a freshman attending college on a hockey scholarship is great at cooking and his speed on the ice. He is definitely not the typical Ovechkin type of person, and so he makes his own way into the team while vlogging to his unspecified viewers. We are taken from his Freshman to his Junior year, and during this time he sees the unique personalities of each person, including his crush, Jake who is dealing with his own struggles. For all you who will also eventually read this book, I highly recommend you read this book, #1 before you read book #2. I can't remember why I didn't, but it wasn't smart.
