We are living in such an amazing time that we can read a great variety of books about different experiences- hardships as well as joys, multicultural. And this book gives us one of those voices that I am so glad that I read. Obviously, in this time of Black Lives Matter, more things are coming to light that everyone can learn from.
A black man is accused of raping a woman. They were wrong- it wasn't him. But in the meantime, he is in jail, and his marriage is falling apart. And that is the crutch of the book- the marriage. It is tense, it is heartfelt. But what makes this book different is that because of the realities that clearly are things that few white people will truly undergo, we see how the dominoes fall. This book has the delicate balance of being relatable no matter who is reading the book, and looking through the eyes of a different person.
