My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The whole time I listen to the book, I am cursing myself because I can't skip to the back and find out if "allegedly" she is guilty. The whole time, I have no idea, and during the reading, I am halfway rooting for the main character, half the time wondering who she really is. And during this whole plot, we again realize more perspectives of the systemic injustices that really do make a difference in people's lives and the outcomes of their choices. And these injustices are at times microaggressions, to nothing else that can be labeled at completely mean. And on top of all that, throw in the lack of mothering due to implied narcissism of who is supposed to be her guardian.
