If you liked Plain Kate, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (seriously- that's the title), then you'll like this book. Candy, from Chickentown, has never felt like she belonged. One day she walks far into the fields, and is approached by a man with antlers, and heads on each antler. And, now she is immersed in the land of Abarat, where she feels like she has always belonged. (not all people have antlers with heads on them). She goes through many different lands and meets many people, all the while being chased by the 2 big leaders of the world. It kept my attention for most of the book and there were definitely some very imaginative parts.
