I really enjoyed this book and can see why it's on the Virginia Readers' Choice this year. My daughter read it and suggested I read it, so I did. Basically, a young girl's grandfather discovers how to be young again and turns himself into a teenager. He has to then move in with his daughter and granddaughter. While there, the granddaughter learns about the joys of science and also befriends some new classmates in her middle school. All the while her BFF of elementary school and she just sort of fizzle out.
Jennifer Holm hit the nail on the head about how each stage of growing up isn't easy, but it's a right of passage. There are issues that seem to irk all stages, yet are necessary. Plus, it shows the effects of science on life both good and bad. Great book and I highly recommend it for all young readers.
