As a fantasy, this was pretty good. But I think if I knew more about Korean folklore I would have appreciated it way more. Basically, a girl sacrifices herself to be the bride of an underwater god so that her brother and his beloved are able to be together (she was supposed to be the bride). And then there was stuff about the emperor and his son or helper and how he is helping the young girl. To be honest, it was a while back that I listened to the book, and it was probably a book I would suggest to read rather than listen. I enjoy reading about different cultures, so I may venture to read it again to truly appreciate it.
