I was debating whether or not to actually write a review on social media about this book, after reading about the dangers of social media. But then I thought, hey, if Goodreads overtakes the world, then I'd be fine. I may even be a queen. Who knows.
So, what would you do if the social media norm is that you completely expose your life to utter transparency (well, except the bathroom- no one should ever want to see/hear that)? Cameras are everywhere to help curb the bad-choices-crowd who do their crimes in secret. Mae is expected to give more than a 9-5 job. She is expected to live out her free time with in groups connected by the Circle (very reminiscent of another social media which shall remain nameless, but resembles a 10 to the 100th power). And so it begins- is it a good thing or a bad thing to be so connected through media? It would be an interesting book club book. Any takers?
