Any setting in PEI is just cool. And I love the setting with inns. So, this was a pretty good book. And there were definite real issues that happen in real life. It wasn't all roses when it came to family, wealth, trust. So, when Marie went to Prince Edward Island to escape some very hurtful memories and worse, it was legitimate. Squirrel rant: I really don't like contrived issues that as a reader just make me want to pull out my hair- just talk about whatever the problem is! Squirrel gone. And the people she met seemed genuine. I'll be honest, I was even thinking of Gilmore Girls in my head which is a good thing. My only issue with the book relates to the squirrel rant. I'm not sure why, when Marie had such a close connection to Seth and Jacob she didn't just explain what had happened when she had a good opportunity and it would absolve her from the lingering lack of trust. But, of course, where would the plot be with that? Oh, and of course, kudos for having a character named Aretha. I listened to the book, so I was super excited to hear my name (sort of, but close enough). Good book, and definitely had some great parts.
