My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I've dabbled in art, but this is just an amazing book when you consider the watercolor medium, the color choices, and the details that show off Fumio Obata's amazing talent. The story also gives us an understanding of grief. That despite the exterior of composure and strength, there is a woman who is breaking down on the inside, all the while reviewing her choice of living in London or moving back to her home in Japan. Grief does that to you- makes you wonder if everything you had worked for was the right choice. And in all of this graphic art, the reader gets to see a recurring Noh Theater vision guiding the main character into a decision. But the art- just amazing!
