You know when you read a book or watch a movie and you aren’t sure who is good or who is bad? Or sometimes you know you should be following along and understand but then you think, “wait, did that really happen?” Genuine fraud is no different. I really enjoyed We Were Liars, and this one has you wanting to reread the book to catch all the things you know you missed because you are just trying to keep up. In order to not give away the plot, I will basically say this is a book where Jules is running away, but we aren’t sure from what or from whom. Oooh, and the chapters are cleverly written backwards, kind of like that Seinfeld episode that slowly revealed how the final scene came to be.
I did enjoy the book, but I can’t say my life is altered in any way. I will happily recommend to to almost anyone, but I doubt I’ll refer to it in a life changing manner. Just a good way to spend a day when forced to stay indoors.
