Some of my fellow book clubbers were not fans of this book to the degree that I was. But I have to say, I needed this perfect blend of wry humor mixed with a bit of vinegary real life. One member commented that the majority of the book illustrates just how awkward Eleanor is, and it went a little overboard. Ok, I can maybe see that, but I also think that it was a great character development of the relationship between Eleanor and Raymond. By the way, the fact that I can remember the names of the characters shows how much I enjoyed the book. The sad part of the story was very sad and I can't say I was supremely surprised by some of the things that were uncovered, so Ms. Honeyman did a great job at making me think I was super smart by accurately predicting the end. But there was one part where I had to stop, rewind, and double check that I understood it correctly. Quite the "bravo" twist!
All in all, if you enjoyed the Rosie Project you will definitely enjoy this book.
