Oh my gosh, I was able to enter the world of disgustingly rich people. One of the things I appreciated about this book is that it showed a multi-faceted response to the effect extreme wealth has on people. False humility, insecurity, prejudices, insane expectations, and of course, those rich who have no idea that other people don't live as they do. I got angry, I laughed, and if I had more heart, I probably would have cried. There were parts that made me a bit sad, just not maudlin. Rachel is a professor, dating another professor in the US. When he asks her to come with her to his best friend's wedding, he sees his family through different eyes. Other stories are poignant as well with his cousins and how they relate to the rich family dynamic. Let's just say I didn't necessarily walk away thinking how much I'd love to be super rich. I'm very content.
