I get it, Jeanine Cummins has not lived anything like in the book, but she admits that in her author notes. And dang nabbit, it's fiction. Sure, there is the viewpoint to expose a humanity to migrants, as well as the danger of what it takes to come into the US. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time- seriously, my blood pressure went up while reading the book. It was a good book, and it is fiction. I would definitely be willing to read more about this subject.
