Meh. It was more of a psychological book about the love tangles, the meaning of love and meaning of relationships. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I guess it wasn't this. I mean, it's interesting how people react to life-threatening bomb attacks in London during World War II. Sarah, the cheating wife, decides that she will now believe in God since He has saved her lover because of her heartfelt pleas, which has then thrown her husband and lover in a maelstrom. The twist of the letter was pretty interesting. But overall, this was more of a contemplative book, and less about the action. I'm sad I had to miss the book club because I think it would have probably flushed out more meaning and introspection than I had at the time. Maybe I will revisit the ranking if I talk to someone else about it.
