What a great premise of a book- a young boy, Evan Hansen, is told to write self-affirmation letters to himself. Another "loner" and labeled bad boy finds a letter, and after he takes his own life, his parents find the letter, thinking that their son had a best friend, Evan Hansen. Evan is stuck to continue the charade and along the way finds that there are people out there that are friends, and that he doesn't have to be alone. I heard this was a musical, so it was interesting to read while thinking about the songs that could have been highlighted. Great book for the YA collection!
